Welcome to Emotional Abuse Answers!
Support for adult survivors of childhood emotional abuseDear Emotional Abuse Survivor,
If you’re an adult survivor of childhood emotional abuse then you’ve come to the right place. This site focuses on the experience of emotional abuse from family members, especially parents, past and present. Unlike physical abuse and sexual abuse, emotional abuse doesn’t usually stop when you become an adult. It usually lasts as long as your abusers live.
The fact that you’re here shows something amazing. You’re willing to call what happened to you as a child and what’s happening to you now by an ugly word–abuse. Those who don’t, those who keep telling themselves they’re imagining it or are too sensitive or need to just get over it, don’t even make it to the first stage of healing. It’s that simple.
Please see a description below of the different sections of this website. Stay updated. Use the Contact page to tell me your story or ask questions. Follow EAA on Twitter and Facebook. Most importantly, don’t shove your emotional abuse aside as though it isn’t important. It’s serious. It’s damaging. But you can triumph over it. That’s what this site is about.
